Default audio device on browser is incorrect.

  • There is a message in the browser: "Problem during WebRTC connection..."
  • Windows automatically sets a headset to the default audio device when plugged in.
    While Chrome does not update its default device.
    This results in the browser not being able to access the audio device.

Solution

Steps to change the audio device in Google Chrome.

  • Open Google Chrome
  • Click on the Chrome menu on the top right. (Depicted by three vertical dots)
     
  • Click Settings
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the settings page and click on the "Advanced" drop down.
  • Under the "Privacy and security" category click on "Content Settings".
  • Scroll down until you find the "Microphone" option.
  • Once you have clicked on the "Microphone" option you will be provided with a bunch of settings that you can change.
  • The first setting will be a drop down in which you can select the desired device to be used.
