Problem

  • I would like to connect to my database directly
  • I would like to use Power BI to mine my data

Solution

You can follow these steps (Windows only):
  1. Request database details from TaskFlow by sending an email to support@taskflow.co.za. Please include your static IP address
  2. Download Power BI at https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/ and follow the installation steps
  3. Download NPSQL MSI file at https://github.com/npgsql/Npgsql/releases and follow the installation steps
    1. Be sure to enable the "GAC Installation"
  4. Enter the database details that you received from TaskFlow support
    1. Database URL
    2. Username
    3. Password
